MAIN STREET FEATURES
THE MOOSE MOUNTAIN PRO RODEO
A TRADITION ROOTED IN HOPE
All kinds of things that can become a ‘tradition’.
From those annual events that we “wouldn’t miss” … to routines so familiar that they seem a part of us … traditions are born inside the memories we cherish most.
Certainly, this is what has made the Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo a tradition; for members of a “community” that extends far beyond the good-natured prairie village that hosts the event.
Reverend Will. L. Gourlay organized the first “Kennedy Rodeo” in the 1930’s. The “cowpuncher clergyman” hoped a rodeo could lift people’s spirits during the “lean dark time” that was the Great Depression.
In the decades since then, that small rodeo has grown into the Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo and has far exceeded the hope that created it.
ON JULY 21ST & 22ND THAT TRADITION WILL BRING A COMMUNITY TOGETHER AGAIN…

COME ON OUT TO THE RODEO PARADE
The fun will begin on Saturday July 21st with ‘Rodeo Slack’ at 9 am. The Rodeo Parade begins at noon, with the Demolition Derby following immediately after. The afternoon will also feature a Trade Show and activities for the kids.

ENJOY OUTSTANDING RODEO ACTION
The Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo will begin with the Rodeo Grand Entry at 5 pm on Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday. Cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls, as they demonstrate their determination and skill. And witness the spirit and power displayed by some of the finest rodeo stock to ever enter an arena.

MAKE THE TRADITION YOUR OWN
Whether this is your 1st rodeo or your 81st make this thrilling celebration of our western heritage an annual tradition for you and your family.
